Izaak Walton Summer Youth League Awards & Fun Night

The youth awards banquet was held on August 11. Trophies and medals were awarded and Taco’s, watermelon, desserts & drinks were provided. After the award presentation, the youth and their families enjoyed some shooting and Annie Oakley.

The Home School Youth Trap Group held their fun night on May 29 with a pot luck supper. Following supper, many Dads, Moms, and brothers and sisters enjoyed a night of trap shooter with their youth shooter, including some Annie Oakley games.

The Virtual Tournament was held on June 10 and 11 at the Izaak Walton Club.

Siouxland Shooters (SYSO)

News:

The 4-H trapshooters go to Mitchell, SD for their state shoot that starts Sept 5th through the weekend. The group from Ike’s have 7 qualified and 5 that will be attending.

If you know someone who wants to shoot BB guns, air rifle, or pistol, there is an opportunity to shoot with the 4-H Sioux Land Youth Shooters. They will be starting up again in January 2026. The team is open to youth who are age 8 as of January 1, 2026.

HuntSAFE Pilot Program

A HuntSAFE Pilot Program was held at the Izaak Walton Club for a class of middle schooler’s from Ben Rifle Middle School and Patrick Henry Middle School. It was put on by the Game, Fish, & Parks through the Outdoor Campus. The Outdoor Campus is trying to support shooting & hunting safety for the youth in the Sioux Falls district. A class was held in Spring 2025. Pictures below.
