Monday night league youth league sponsored by the Izaak Walton League began on Monday, June 15 and conclude on August 3 with a starting time of 5:30.  Fun night and awards were held August 11.

Shooting During Season

We’re excited to introduce a new coaching and practice opportunity designed to give our athletes and coaches more focused, high‑impact training time. This series is built to help everyone elevate their skills and get the individualized attention we often can’t fit into the Spring season.

Athlete Training: We’re adding dedicated practice nights for athletes to sharpen their fundamentals and receive more one‑on‑one coaching. We expect about 10–20 athletes at each session, and all athletes preparing for the 2027 Spring season are encouraged to attend.

Coaches Training: These sessions will also include structured time for coaches to work on teaching techniques, refine coaching strategies, and collaborate on program development. Coach attendance is optional, but all coaches are welcome to participate and support athletes during these nights.

The South Dakota Youth Conservation Camp was June 7 thru June 13, 2026 with 81 youth attending. There were 11 youth from the Sioux Empire area which is where the Sioux Falls Chapter is located. With the Grant that we received along with funds approved by the chapter board we were able to send 3 campers to the camp. The hope is the camp will inspire some of the campers to continue with an education in conservation and wildlife and hopefully choose the Izaak Walton League as their conservation organization.

First Day of Practice

Ditch Walk

A HuntSAFE Pilot Program was held at the Izaak Walton Club for a class of middle schooler’s from Ben Rifle Middle School and Patrick Henry Middle School.  It was put on by the Game, Fish, & Parks through the Outdoor Campus.  The Outdoor Campus is trying to support shooting & hunting safety for the youth in the Sioux Falls district.  A class was held in Spring 2025 and Fall 2025.  Pictures below.
